I don’t have a master backup of this thread, nor do I have one of my other thread, “Rising Female Death Rate.” If they are revived, which is my hope, I will take time to save them all, and send them to a couple of key friends, to hold in hand in case something happens to the “master” copy, or to me.
I’m going to go through my e-mail, it contains a number of posts that I sent to friends, the same friends who will be getting the Master copy, it that transpires.
“The Party said that Oceania had never been in alliance with Eurasia. He, Winston Smith, knew that Oceania had been in alliance with Eurasia as short a time as four years ago. But where did that knowledge exist? Only in his own consciousness, which in any case must soon be annihilated. And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. ‘Who controls the past,’ ran the Party slogan, ‘controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.’ And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. ‘Reality control’, they called it: in Newspeak, ‘doublethink’. ”
George Orwell, from “1984”
September 3, 2014 – The long-term data show the sea surface temperatures for the Gulf of Maine shifted upwards in the late 1920s. So let’s look at the sea surface temperatures there since 1930, Figure 4. While there was a recent uptick in the sea surface temperatures for the Gulf of Maine, the linear trend of the data show the warming rate there was basically flat, at only 0.004 deg C/decade, since 1930. Human-induced global warming appears to have eluded the surface temperatures of the Gulf of Maine.

As you can see from the set of quotes immediately above, the folks in charge are not your friends, and are lying to you about basically everything, including lobsters and water temperatures in the gulf of Maine.
In the June 5th and 12th issue of the New Yorker magazine, there’s a note in “The Theater” section that says “Sales of George Orwell’s dystopian novel “1984” spiked in the wake of the 2016 election. A theatrical version, created and directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Madmillan, in in previews at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre, after originating in England. The cast includes Tom Sturridge, Olivia Wilde, and Reed Birney.”
They use the meme word “spike”, which implies that sales shot up, but quickly dropped again, forming a “spike” on the graph. It’s a repellant word, it grates, makes you feel uneasy. That’s why it’s used serially in the controlled media:

Remember, Trump was elected by duped rubes who had confidence in the con artists line that he was going to “drain the swamp” in Washington, that he was going to “make America great again.” Right after Obama got elected, I saw a funny bumper sticker that said “How’s that Hope and Change working out for you?” Obama, you remember him, the guy who got elected saying he’d shut down Gitmo. There is, indeed, a sucker born every minute.
But, eventually, people are going to figure out that each and every last natilly-suited teleprompter reader put forth before them is a con artist, part of a larger criminal organization, running a “Confidence Game” in which they use false appearance to gain the confidence of the rubes they will later “fleece”, or take advantage of.
And I think we’re pretty much there, now:
January 26, 2017 – Sales of “1984” have increased 9,500% amid the start of Trump’s presidency – The book is in such high demand the publisher ordered a 75,000-copy reprint.

It’s all over but the crying for these guys.
